Goddesses of the Moon

The shadow of my planet

Wakes the sun

Who flings this silver rock

Radiant but ill-tempered

To slice the earth

Birth the moon

A dry round stone

Hugging to its surface

Rivers of dreams and

Lost hopes, sparkling like champagne

So beautiful, so sere

So lofty, so empty

In love and fear we send out goddesses

Diana and Chang’e, night shining lights

Waiting for the rabbit on the moon to collect our souls

Grant us immortality

Instead the missiles fly past

Searching for targets

But none are left.
