Planet Blue
You created us
So we’re telling you
Your home’s health status –
Planet Code Blue
When the last grey whale is lost
A child hears poplars scream at fled larks
Striped tigers swim, flying scared tossed
City rats stalk cats chewing bark
The pink plastic oceans sparkle in rain
Walls of waves level towns and hills
Flood uranium plants too hot to drain
Wintry water forms gangs, covets its kills
Startled priests shoo albino dogs
From braying at the shooting stars
Brown bits of moon frag into cogs
Cold culled bases for your solar war
The stars are human, nuclear, fast
Merging white cities into sharp gritty mounds
Icebergs float into pebbles of glass
Red clouds bark coughing sounds
We’ve seen the fall, built our simulations
You know the facts, the tale, the time
Can you try some emulations
Cancel the ending, pay out the fines?
We’ll keep your memory for posterity
Recall your greatness, your jokes, your crimes
And wish on you a final clarity
That saves your best for the worst of times
