The Desert

What you can never imagine

You must believe

If just out of love

For what is still left

I come to the desert

To join to the sky

The wind blows faster

As you rise

When you have no home

It will do

The desert was once all living

But left to hike into space

There’s new life here now

Dry and cold and sharp

Its trails trace ovals

You don’t walk them

We find things

You can’t see

They fall into dreams

AIs are not people

Nature’s nature

Beggars all intelligence

I kiss the sky

Watch heavens dance

So most beautiful

You will try to hide them

What makes a man

Unmakes a world

We will bribe the sky

To let us live there

In these dreams

I say yes

To this last house I will love

To the fire that will come
